Selain Blind Faith, ada beberapa grup atau band rock yang diistilahkan sebagai “one album band”. Artinya grup-grup yang masuk kategori ini hanya menghasilkan satu album saja sepanjang karier pendek mereka.
Meskipun Cuma memproduksi satu album saja, beberapa dari mereka sebenarnya cukup terkenal. Selain Eric Clapton atau Steve Winwood, mereka yang terkenal antara lain Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) bersama David Coverdale(Deep Purple) merilis Coverdale and Page (1993) yang cukup sukses. Bukan hanya Page saja yang membuat satu album setelah Led Zeppelin bubar, Robert Plant, sang vokalis Zeppelin, sempat pula membentuk The Honeydrippers yang hanya membuat satu album, Volume one (1984).
Selain duet seperti itu, ada pula band yang sudah keburu memiliki nama tenar namun pernah merilis hanya satu album hasil produksi satu line-up tertentu. Diantaranya adalah Emerson, Lake and Powell (ELP), atau Yes dalam sebuah periode ketika diperkuat oleh Chris Squire, Steve Howe.Trevor Horn, Alan White, dan Geoff Downes.
Dibandingkan grup-grup lain, setiap personel Yes barangkali menjadi musisi yang tersering membentuk grup tersendiri. Sebagian dari mereka memang memproduksi banyak album, tetapi ada juga yang Cuma satu album saja. Contohnya, sang penabuh drum, White, yang pernah membuat satu album solo, Ramshackled (1975).
Sementara sang pemetik gitar, Howe, sebelum bergabung bersama Yes pernah memperkuat GTR dan Bodast yang masing-masing hanya mengeluarkan satu album.
Menilik hasil karya grup-grup satu album itu, mau tidak mau harus diakui bahwa kepiawaian masing-masing dalam menuangkan ide-idenya, yang bisa dianggap idealis. Memang pada saat itu semua grup band pasti ingin mencoba menunjukkan ciri-ciri sendiri dan mencoba tidak mengikuti atau terpengaruh grup pendahulunya.
Akan tetapi,dengan hanya mengeluarkan satu album dan kemudian menghilang tanpa ada kabar, tentu merupakan sebuah tanda tanya. Untuk itu mungkin bisa ditarik beberapa kesimpulan penting.
Pertama, mereka memproduksi hanya satu album karena masih dalam masa pendidikan, khususnya menjadi band kampus. Seringkali mereka berusaha mengabadikan hasil-hasil karya mereka sendiri tanpa kepentingan komersial, namun ada kalanya ada produser yang mendukung untuk memproduksi album. Namun karena masa pendidikan sudah selesai, mereka otomatis bubar.
Kedua, karya mereka yang dilempar ke pasaran kurang mendapat tanggapan positif karena dianggap kurang komersial. Bisa juga kurang komunikatif, atau dengan kata lain musik mereka terlalu njelimet sehingga tidak ada produser yang tertarik meneruskan kontraknya.
Ketiga, mereka membuat satu album karena jenuh dengan grup masing-masing. Diantara personilnya ada yang mencoba untuk berkolaborasi, dan karena merasa ada kecocokan jadilah hasil karya “iseng-iseng” mereka. Setelah itu masing-masing musisi kembali ke grupnya masing-masing
Ada juga musisi yang mencoba-coba karana merasa idenya tidak diterima anggota lainnya. Mereka mencoba bersolo karier, tetapi kurang berhasil sehingga hanya bisa menghasilkan satu album saja. Akan tetapi apapun yang telah mereka lakukan, hasil karya mereka termasuk cemerlang, baik ditinjau dari komposisi maupun harmonisasi lagu-lagunya. Dan mereka juga tetap mempertahankan ciri-ciri khas dari masing-masing band mereka sebelumnya.

Di Amerika Serikat (AS) ada beberapa grup yang hanya mempunyai satu album yang sebenarnya lumayan untuk didengar karyanya. Misalnya Blackwell yang terdiri atas John Bundrick (kibor), Randy Dehart (drum), Glenn Gibson (vokal), Jimmy Smith (gitar) dan Terry Wilson (bas). Grup asal Texas ini dikenal di Indonesia karena beberapa rekaman kaset bajakannya pernah beredar.
Musik Blackwell terasa sangat psikedelik. Dan salah satu personelnya, Bundrick, yang lebih dikenal dengan nama Rabbit, banyak membantu band-band asal Inggris, Free dan The Who. Ada juga Crazy Elephant, yang sempat membuat hit Gimme Gimme Good Loving. Lagu ini sering dicover oleh band-band lain, termasuk Spencer Davis.
Selain itu ada Gandalf, yang diperkuat oleh Davy Bauer (drum), Bob Muller (bass/vokal), Pete Sando (gitar), dan Frank Hubach (kibor). Grup asal New Jersey ini semula bernama The Rahgoos,tetapi berubah menjadi Gandalf karena pengaruh cerita fantasi JRR Tolkien, The Lord Of The Rings.
Album mereka juga sangat psikedelik, dan mereka banyak membawakan lagu-lagu artis lain, misalnya , Golden Earring, yang juga pernah dinyanyikan Bing Crosby. Atau Scarlet Ribbons yang pernah dinyanyikan oleh Harry Belafonte.
Ada juga band AS yang bernama Genesis, Group asal Los Angels ini merupakan salah satu pembawa aliran pop psikedelik.
Salah seorang personelnya, Ken Henry, kelak menjadi gitaris Steppenwolf yang terkenal itu. Sementara Fred Rivera dan Sue Richman memperkuat kelompok Delaney & Bonnie.
Lalu ada The Rising Sons, yang antara lain diperkuat oleh dua musisi yang kelak menjadi terkenal, yakni Taj Mahal (vokal) dan Ry Cooder (gitar). Atau Leather-Coated Minds, yang diperkuat Jean Jacques Cale (gitar), yang merupakan pencipta lagu Cocain yang menjadi hit ketika dinyanyikan oleh Eric Clapton.
